LOOK at the middle column. We’ve got 1, 4 and 5. That leaves 2 and 3. The centre cell can’t be a 2 (because there’s already a 2 in that row). So, 2 at the top, 3 in the middle. The 3 is ‘greater than’ the cell to its right, which must be a 1. That leaves us with a 5 and a 4 to place in the middle row. The cell to the left of the 3 is not the biggest in the chain, so that must be the 4. Now you can fill in a 5 in not one but two cells.
