Out of the mouths of babes

AFTER the death of my father-in-law, a heavy smoker, my elder son, aged five, who adored him, asked if he had gone to heaven. Hoping to comfort him, we replied: ‘Yes, to live with Jesus.’ He burst into tears, saying Grandpa would be unhappy. When asked why, he said: ‘You aren’t allowed to smoke in God’s house [church], so Grandpa won’t be allowed to smoke in heaven!’
