Debenhams boss quits
DEBENHAMS chief executive Sergio Bucher has stepped down after the department store crashed into administration and was snapped up by its lenders.
Non- executive chairman Terry Duddy will fill the role until a successor is found.
Bucher, 55, joined Debenhams as chief executive in 2016 after three years heading Amazon’s fashion business in europe. Last year he was targeted in a boardroom coup by Sports Direct boss and Debenhams’ largest shareholder Mike Ashley. Bucher was kicked off the board but remained chief executive.
he said: ‘Now that our new financing facilities are in place, it is time to move on, knowing the company is in good hands.’
