DRAWS ARE NO MORE

IT IS now 35 days since there was a draw in the Premier League. The last stalemate came on March 16 when Bournemouth and Newcastle drew 2-2. The previous longest gap was 21 days in 1995-96. Draws have been scarce all season. Only 17 per cent of this season’s games have been drawn — the lowest percentage in the top flight since 1904-05! Meanwhile, Tottenham have drawn only once. The last team to draw twice or less in a top-flight season was Sunderland with two in 1908-09.

POGBA EYES HISTORY

PAUL POGBA has scored 13 times in the league this season — the most by a Man Utd midfielder since Andrei Kanchelskis’s 14 in 1994-95. The Frenchman can match that against Everton tomorrow, while two goals would mean he’d be the highest scoring United midfielder in a league season since Gordon Strachan hit 15 in 1984-85. Just like Pogba this campaign, Strachan scored seven penalties.

MO TARGETS MAGIC 20

MO SALAH has a chance to hit 20 league goals for the second season in a row tomorrow. If he does reach 20, he will be only the third Liverpool player to score 20 times in consecutive Premier League seasons. He would emulate Robbie Fowler (above) in 1994-95 & 1995-96 and Luis Suarez in 2012-13 & 2013-14.

EASTER VICTORY HUNT

LIVERPOOL and Arsenal have won the most games on Easter Sunday in Premier League history with four each. Both these teams play tomorrow and will hope to extend their records against Cardiff and Palace respectively. The other game is between Everton and Man Utd. Everton’s only win on Easter Sunday in the PL came against Man Utd in 2014. United’s only defeat? To Everton in 2014. Also, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can become the all-time Easter Sunday PL top scorer if he nets.
