Deignan back into gear in Ardennes

BRITAIN’S former world cycling champion Lizzie Deignan finished 19th in her first race for almost two years and just seven months after giving birth to her first child. Deignan (right) led the Amstel Gold Race

for a short time before dropping back in to the pack. She was racing for Trek-Segafredo for the first time and will compete in the other Ardennes Classics — La Fleche Wallonne Feminine and Liege-BastogneLiege — later this month. Deignan was the 2015 world road race champion, under her maiden name Armitstead.
