ANIMATED ACTION Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, BT TV/ Sky Store/Virgin Movies

THIS clever and funny animated adventure brings together SpiderMen from different universes (one, Peter Porker, was bitten by a radioactiv­e pig). Better than plenty of live-action superhero films, it scooped both an Oscar and a Bafta.

IN NORMANDY, a large concrete structure sits on a peninsula, surrounded by craters. This turns out to be a Nazi gun emplacemen­t, and the story of the pre-Day Allied mission to take it out is one of extraordin­ary courage against overwhelmi­ng odds.

FREEVIEW MOVIE Blended, 8pm, 5Star

IN THIS frothy romcom, two single parents become a blended family — whether they like it or not. Drew Barrymore (pictured) and Adam Sandler are the singletons who go on a disastrous first date, only for fate to bring them together — with their children — on holiday at an idyllic African resort.

OLD MASTER Looking For Rembrandt, 9pm, BBC4

IN THE last of this insightful three-part documentar­y, the Dutch painter (voiced by Toby Jones) is reflecting on his golden days and his struggle — in his later years — to stay out of debtors’ prison. There’s poignancy here and it makes for the best episode of the run.

U.S. JUSTICE Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, 9pm, 5 USA

THE victim in this new-to-Freeview episode isn’t too sympatheti­c at the start. Kristi is a video blogger who insists on filming everything — even her interview with the police about her alleged rape — and that doesn’t do the prosecutio­n of her case any favours. Matters take a turn later, though.

LUNAR QUEST Budget Mission To The Moon, 9pm, National Geographic

ON APRIL 11, the Israeli spacecraft Beresheet nearly became the first privately funded unmanned lander to touch down on the moon. This new film follows the passion and the preparatio­ns that led up to the moment this £76million vessel crashed on to the surface.

CRISIS DRAMA 9-1-1, 9pm, Sky Witness

AFTER last week’s flashback, we return to the perilous situations that were left hanging — Maddie’s abduction by her ex-husband, Doug, who also stabbed Chimney and left him for dead. ‘This is your fault,’ says Doug to an anguished Maddie as he drives her away, and the first responders swing into action.

INTO THE PAST Timeless, 10pm,p, E4

NO EXPENSE is spared in the first of this two-part finale to the U.S. timetravel drama as the team — including Jiya and Wyatt (Claudia Doumitmit and Matt Lanter, Lanter pictured) — head to the Wild West to save Rufus and the world from the evil Rittenhous­e. As befits a show in which the timeline can change at the drop of a hat, this is a twistfille­d ride. Concludes next Tuesday.

FILM THRILLER The Neighbour, 11pm, Sky Premiere

WILLIAM FICHTNER stars as the middle-aged man who is drawn into a drama next door, fuelled mainly by his fascinatio­n with a young woman he suspects is being abused by her husband.
