Barnsley keep heat on Luton
BARNSLEY refuse to give up on the League one title after a 3-0 win at Plymouth reduced the gap to Luton to two points.
Three goals in 13 minutes lifted Daniel Stendel (below) and his side to second in the table and left Plymouth a point above the relegation places. Alex Mowatt’s free-kick added to goals from cauley woodrow and Jacob Brown.
Stendel said: ‘There’s a lot of pressure on our team, but we deserved to win by more than 3-0.’
After Portsmouth had beaten coventry 2-1 in the early kick-off, it was up to Sunderland to match them but a late Peterborough equaliser left them in fourth, four points behind Barnsley.
Max Power fired Sunderland into the lead with three minutes remaining but Matt Godden earned Peterborough a point. Luton face lowly AFc wimbledon tonight.
