Cowley hails his Lincoln champs

DANNY COWLEY hailed Lincoln’s title triumph yesterday as a ‘whole city, whole county effort’. The imps drew 0-0 at home to Tranmere but it was enough for cowley’s side to seal top spot after Mansfield slumped to a 3-2 loss at oldham.

‘ we have magnificent supporters and we’re so happy we can give them days like this,’ said cowley (right). ‘As for the players, there are no egos and when you have that you can achieve wonderful things.’

Bury overtook Mansfield for second with a 3-1 win over Northampton. MK Dons are fourth, level on points with Mansfield, after drawing with Port Vale.

At the bottom of the table, all three teams in the battle to stay up took a point. Notts county and Yeovil remain in the relegation spots after draws against crawley and colchester respectively.
