European duo chase Trippier
ATLETICO MADRID have joined Napoli by showing interest in Tottenham right back Kieran Trippier. The England wing-back has admitted he has struggled to match last season’s performances but he is still a key part of a Spurs side that is in the Champions League semi-finals and third in the Premier League prior to tonight’s game with Brighton. Trippier, 28, has three years left on his contract but Tottenham are considering adding two full backs this summer. Initial enquiries from Napoli and Atletico indicate offers will fall well short of their valuation. Napoli are willing to bid around £15million plus add-ons and Atletico will look for a similar deal, having already set aside £35m for Porto’s Brazilian left back Alex Telles. Manchester United and Everton have been linked with Trippier but are also keen on the Crystal Palace right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as are Manchester City. TOTTENHAM vs BRIGHTON, tonight 7.45pm.
