Now it’s last orders for Ed’s pub sign
ED Sheeran has been ordered to take down a huge pub sign from the grounds of his mansion because it is ‘unauthorised signage’. The singersongwriter was also told to remove a sauna by a ‘wildlife pond’ at his East Suffolk estate, or apply for planning permission. Council officials visited Sheeran’s property after neighbours raised concerns the pond could actually be a swimming pool. The £500,000 feature has a jetty and two sets of steps and is believed to have been installed by Gartenart, which specialises in wild swimming pools.
Suffolk Coastal District Council said there was ‘no evidence’ the pond was being used for swimming but found a Romany caravan parked by the water, which had been converted into a sauna.
They also told the musician, worth £40million, to get rid of the sign outside his drinking den, The Lancaster Lock. The 28yearold hung the fivemetre sign outside the converted barn after he was given permission to turn it into a pub in 2017. It is named after his wife, Cherry Lancaster Seaborn.
Sheeran’s country estate includes an indoor swimming pool, a fourroom treehouse and a trendy ‘pod’. The grounds have informal gardens, lawns and fields.
