Young Dragon enters the Den

CRAFTING entrepreneur Sara Davies is to become the youngest ever investor on the BBC’s Dragons’ Den – 13 years after she was invited to pitch her own business on the show.

The 35-year-old is joining the panel following the departure of Jenny Campbell.

Mrs Davies, pictured, founded Crafter’s Companion from her bedroom while studying at York University.

The retail business now has a turnover of £35million a year and employs more than 190 staff in Europe and the US.

‘I’ve been a fan of the show since it started,’ said Mrs Davies, from Coundon, Durham. ‘I was even invited to pitch on the show so it feels like I’ve come a full circle.’ Despite the invitation, she didn’t appear on the show.
