Hey! That’s Grandad beside the seaside

THANKS for publishing the picture of the deckchair attendant on Eastbourne seafront during the sweltering Easter heatwave of 1949 (Mail). He was my late grandfather Walter Creed. My mum, who will be 94 tomorrow, was over the moon to see his photo in the newspaper. Grandad fought right through World War I and was a shoe maker and repairer in Eastbourne before becoming a deckchair attendant.
