Night Charles’s singer pal trod on Queen’s toes

THREE Degrees star Sheila Ferguson became so close to the heir to the throne that she was introduced to the Queen.

‘Prince Charles once said to me: “Do you want to meet my mother?”’ reveals the American singer, 71, who is currently appearing in ITV’s Hard To Please OAPs.

‘I was thinking: “That’s not just your mother — that’s the Queen.” ’

Charles was an admirer of Sheila in the Seventies and the meeting with Her Majesty duly went ahead, but proved a painful experience — for HM. ‘She said: “It’s so good to meet you,” and extended her little glove.

‘And I didn’t know whether to curtsy or what — so I ended up stepping on her pink shoe.’
