I AGREE it would be helpful to be able to buy in-between sizes of trousers (Letters), but it would also help if waist sizes were consistent in every High Street shop.

Depending on the brand, I have to abandon my normal 34in for a 38in or a 32in. How can sizes differ so much when they should be determined by a tape measure?

No wonder most internet buys are returned when you don’t know what size is going to turn up. TONY THOMPSON,
