Stairlift can move with you

-

STAIRLIFTS provide a fantastic way to open up the full run of the home for those who are starting to find the stairs a challenge. Installing one can make daily life far easier, particularly if you have a health condition such as arthritis, or breathlessness caused by poor circulation. But what happens if you want to move home or change the carpet? Fortunately, the stairlift companies have thought of this — and will either remove and dispose of it, move it to another property or buy it back. Removing a stairlift does require man hours and transportation costs, so there may be a small fee. If you wish to redecorate or lay a new carpet, leading companies will usually offer a service where they temporarily remove the stairlift. They will work with your carpet fitter or decorator to ensure the lift is out of the way when they arrive and ensure it is back in place as soon as possible after the work is completed. A stairlift can often be moved to a new location. Every staircase is different, but a straight stairlift can usually be re-sited reasonably easily and a curved rail can be remade to fit the new staircase. If you want to sell a used stairlift, it will depend on its age and condition and whether it is straight or curved. If it has been looked after well, with regular servicing, and is less than three years old, a company may be willing to buy it back. But as reconditioning and redistribution is required, this might just be for a fraction of the original payment. What it does mean is that if circumstances change, you have some flexibility.
