Biden’s President bid at 76
FORMER US vice-president Joe Biden announced yesterday he will run for the White House next year – and was immediately mocked by Donald Trump as being too stupid to win the nomination.
Barack Obama’s running mate Mr Biden, 76, pictured, is leading polls to win the Democrat nomination against a field of 19 less experienced contenders. But his wholesome image has been tarnished by accusations of ‘inappropriate’ touching of women. Critics have also pointed to his weakness for making gaffes. There is no love lost between him and Mr Trump, 72, with both saying they would be ready to fight each other physically. Mr Trump yesterday tweeted: ‘Welcome to the race, Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign.’
