Grow up, Mr Corbyn
TO the surprise of absolutely no- one, Jeremy Corbyn announces he will snub the Queen’s invitation to attend a State Banquet for Donald Trump.
The preposterous Marxist says it’s wrong to ‘kowtow’ to the US president. Yet he has no quibbles attending a dinner for Chinese leader Xi Jinping – accused of human rights abuses – nor breaking bread with terrorists.
Yes, Mr Trump can be narcissistic and irresponsible. But he is the elected leader of our staunchest ally. And he is here for the 75th anniversary of D-Day – when America stood beside us to defeat Nazi tyranny.
Mr Corbyn may receive garlands from the berserk Left-wing for his ludicrous virtue-signalling. But he aspires to be Prime Minister. For once, he should act like one. ÷ THIS paper has always held Prince William in high regard. Yesterday, in a deeply affecting speech to bereaved Christchurch massacre victims, he drew on his mother’s tragic death to explain how the grief could, eventually, make you a better person. In so doing, he has shown himself to be the perfect ambassador – and a credit to the country.
