1 IF YOU don’t feel the character then maybe you shouldn’t be writing them. The reader will see through anyone you don’t care about. 2 TAKE a writing course of some sort. You will learn so much from the tutors and from other people in the class. It made a massive difference to me — you take so much for granted but learning about the narrative voice and structure is invaluable. 3 LEARN to let go of any characters, names and storylines that you are struggling with.
