WHY CLIMBERS ARE COMING UP ROSES!

-

rambLing roses, clematis and other climbers are growing fast. With roses, the young stems are fragile and should be tied gently to their supports.

With plants grown against support wires or trellis, this task is easy. Secure semi-mature stems with thin, plasticcoated wire. With younger shoots, use soft jute string. remember, where possible, to flex long stems sideways, in order to promote better flowering.

never fix the stems in a vertical position. it’s always better to curve the stem around the side or over the top.

be gentle, though and make sure that you don’t snap the stem.
