DefenDing world champion Mark Williams was taken to hospital suffering from chest pains last night. Williams, trailing 5-3 to David gilbert, complained of feeling unwell at the end of their session. A doctor was called and, with wife Jo and son Kian, Williams, 44, went to northern general Hospital in Sheffield for tests. Williams tweeted: ‘in A&e, could be here for a while, couldn’t stick the chest pains no more. Lucky there wasn’t more frames to play. Doctors are confident it’s not anything to do with my heart.’ He is due to resume the best-of-25 frames contest this morning. Meanwhile, Mark Selby faces a battle against former cabbie gary Wilson.
