THIS IS WHAT 53 LOOKS LIKE

- Interview: FLORENCE SCORDOULIS Do you look good for your age? Reveal your secrets to inspire@dailymail.co.uk

SANDRA BIRCH lives in cheshire with her husband, Simon, and has three children, annabel, 23, Eddie, 21, and cameron, 17. She is a primary school teacher and children’s yoga instructor.

SUPERMARKET SKINCARE

I RARELY buy expensive skincare, as I find that budget versions work just as well. I buy my night cream in Aldi — its Lacura Q10 Renew Night Cream (£1.45,

aldi.co.uk) and is so moisturising and light. But I do think it’s worth buying good quality sunscreen: last year I swapped a £4 Boots own-brand bottle for La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ (£12.37, boots.com). It’s not too heavy, so I wear it instead of a day cream.

GET A-LIST HAIR

I LOVE my long hair, it makes me feel feminine. In the past, I’ve tried taming it with a Brazilian blow-dry, but it made it too flat. So now I use Ouai Finishing Crème (£20, johnlewis.com). It takes all the frizz out. I discovered it last year after watching Love Island — the presenter, Caroline Flack, uses the range and I love her glossy hair.

HOT YOGA GURU

Once a week, I do a 75-minute hot yoga class (£90 for ten sessions, thelife

centrenorth.com). It’s harder than normal yoga, as the higher temperature forces your heart to pump faster, to cool you down — so you burn more calories. I feel fantastic after and leave with such a glow. It is my favourite form of me-time. I used to run a lot, but had to stop due to a bad back.

TRY MOISTURISING MAKE-UP

I’M SO impressed with Trinny London make-up. The website has tutorials, as well as a ‘match2me’ service, so you can find the right colours for you. The range is so moisturising, which is great for older skin. Plus, they come in tiny stackable pots, which are an ideal size for my handbag. My favourite is the Lip2cheek pot (£25, trinnylondon.com), which makes my skin dewy.

YOUNGER COLLEAGUES

I’M A primary school teacher — and the oldest at my work. My colleagues are between 23 and 40. They take the Mickey out of me! But it’s important to surround yourself with younger people; especially as lots of my friends are in their 60s and starting to wind down and retire. So this keeps me young.
