Does Britain need new political parties?

-

WHAT we need is an anarchist party that recognises we all have individual lifestyles, scraps laws instead of introducing new ones and uses technology to give choice back to the people. A party that overhauls the monarchy and privileges. We need a new kind of society for the 21st century.

PAUL BRAZIER, Wotton-under-Edge, Glos. THE new Change Party should be called the Stay As We Are Party. DAVID HAMBLING, Cheltenham, Glos.

AT THE next General Election, hundreds of thousands of us are going to have to vote Tory, not because we want to, but to keep Labour out. What a lousy state of affairs when you distrust the party we have to vote for just because the option is even worse. When are we going to get a decent, honest political party?

ALAN JACOBS, Biddenham, Beds. AS A life-long Tory voter, witnessing the three-year Brexit catastrophe, I now see they are no better than any of the other parties. The turn-out at the local elections is expected to be low, but that will just be dismissed as the norm for a parliament in mid-term. Instead of not turning up, I implore those of us disenfranchised by the political elite to mark your voting paper: ‘None of the above.’ This will send a strong message to Westminster that they need to execute Brexit properly or face the consequences in the European and General Election when the Brexit Party will be fielding candidates. TOM CHINN, Braunton, Devon.

IT IS reported that disillusioned Conservatives will support Nigel Farage’s Brexit party. I can assure you that many disillusioned Labour supporters will, too.

CHARLES JACKSON, Newcastle upon Tyne.
