FOR SALE: LUXURY UK SHOE BRAND LOVED BY THE A-LIST

-

LUXURY fashion brand Kurt Geiger is exploring a sale for more than £450m boosted by its popularity with celebrities.

Private equity firm Cinven has held informal ‘fireside chats’ with major fashion houses in America including Steve Madden, Michael Kors and Coach, The Sunday Telegraph reported.

The brand was sold just four years ago for £245m by Sycamore Partners, another private equity backer.

Kurt Geiger was founded on London’s Bond Street in 1963 and now has more than 320 stores and concessions, including in Harrods and Selfridges. It employs around 1,300 people.

The Duchess of Sussex wore over-the-knee Violet boots on her first official Royal outing ( pictured). Sienna Miller, Emily Blunt, Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift are also said to be fans.

In 2017 the company reported a 12pc increase in sales to £330m. Since 2015 Cinven, which declined to comment, has sought to diversify the business away from the UK.
