A groovy kind of gown for Phil Collins’s girl
IT was not exactly a Middle-earth look, but Lily Collins was certainly enchanting last night at the premiere of her new film about Lord Of The Rings author J R R Tolkien.
The 30-year-old daughter of singer Phil Collins wore a stunning floral strapless gown with low scoop back, ruched bodice, puffball skirt and train. Miss Collins had a gold bow tied around the waist and, under the flowing dress, a pair of nude Louboutin heels.
In Tolkien, she plays Edith Bratt, the author’s wife and muse. Miss Collins was joined at the premiere, at the Curzon Mayfair, by co-star Nicholas Hoult, who plays Tolkien. The film covers the British writer’s formative years, including his experience as a soldier on the Somme in the First World War.
The film, which is in cinemas from Friday, has already been hit by controversy, with the Hobbit author’s family disowning it. Miss Collins said: ‘Nothing in the film comes across as disrespectful and hopefully people will see that.’
