Punk icon McLaren’s son blasts new Sex Pistols film
JOE CORRE, son of Dame Vivienne Westwood and Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren, is furious with the makers of a new film about the early days of the Seventies punk rock band.
‘Why exactly haven’t they bothered to speak to anyone close to Malcolm,’ he says of the producers of only Anarchists Are Pretty.
‘No one has spoken to me, Malcolm’s only child, nor have they spoken to Vivienne Westwood, nor have they spoken to Malcolm’s older brother Stuart Edwards.
‘Whatever they’re making will be based on fantasy and fabrication.’
Former Sex Pistols lead singer Johnny Lydon — aka Johnny rotten — has already distanced himself from the film, saying it ‘would be unauthorised, unofficial, and not endorsed by The Sex Pistols’. True to the spirit, then!
