A BEASTLY PROBLEM

-

He saw the creature straight away, Asleep beneath a tree, It looked a large and dangerous brute As far as he could see. The sun beat down. He wiped his brow, His shirt was wet right through, The pack was heavy on his back, He wondered what to do. It might be risky to press on Perhaps he’d better wait, Whichever plan he made right now Could influence his fate. Just then the animal awoke And moved from where it lay, Completely unaware of him It slowly strolled away. He watched as it meandered off Till it was there no more, Then hurried up the path and pushed The letters through the door. S. Chisnall, Brixham, Devon.
