his victory at the Masters, Tiger Woods has decided to play no tournaments before the USPGA Championship in New York in a fortnight. ‘He’s still digesting and appreciating what’s happened,’ said his manager, Mark Steinberg. What’s happened is that now he knows he can win majors again, Woods doesn’t need to waste energy. It would come as no surprise if the only other tournaments Tiger plays between now and August are the US Open and the Open.
