The home fixture with Brentford was postponed on Saturday, with players refusing to turn out until they were paid their March salaries. As of last night, they remained unpaid — and April’s wages are due today. The EFL said yesterday that the match against Brentford could take place up to four days after the end of the season. Bolton’s last game should have been at Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Owner Ken Anderson set a deadline of the close of business yesterday for prospective buyer Laurence Bassini to complete a takeover, which was missed.
