BRIDGE MASTERCLASS
What would you bid next in the above sequence?
This is a continuation of yesterday’s auction where we discussed the merits of forcing in hearts over partner’s opening, rather than jumping straight into a Blackwood sequence.
Now partner has rebid his clubs, which shows at least a 5-card suit, denies a 4-card spade suit, and a hand with minimum values, on which he would have bid 2 ♣ , if you had just made a simple overcall in hearts.
Bid 4 ♣ now, showing that part of your strength is support for partner’s suit, and without any fear that this will be passed since you are still in a forcing situation.
