to tour operator Thomas Cook, today’s young holidaymakers are more interested in soaking up the culture than the beer on holiday, with just 10 per cent of 18 to 25year-olds rating partying as a priority. It’s further proof that we are living in the age of the Saffy (above left).

Saffy, you may remember, was the humourless, joyless daughter in Jennifer Saunders’s brilliant Absolutely Fabulous. The offspring of boozy edina, she was a veteran virtue-signaller before the term had even been invented.

It’s perhaps no coincidence that Greta Thunberg (above right), leading light of all those hand-wringing climate protesters who brought London to a standstill last week, also has rather embarrassingly fun-loving parents — her Mum was once even a eurovision contender.

You might want to lighten up a little, girls. After all, you’re only young once.
