-

FOr a fella who seems to have only just become a household name, Dunbar has a stellar CV. He’s appeared in award-winning film My Left Foot and a string of TV hits. He came to prominence when he starred in and co-wrote the 1991 bafta-nominated hit film Hear My song, about the life of Irish tenor Josef Locke.

The following year he starred alongside stephen rea and Miranda richardson in the neil Jordan thriller The Crying Game.

Dunbar also appeared in Cracker, Inspector Morse, silent Witness, ashes To ashes, a Touch Of Frost and Death In Paradise.

Leading ladies include natasha richardson, Tara Fitzgerald, Frances barber and even susanna reid, who on the Good Morning britain sofa giggled as a clip was shown of her TV debut in 1985’s The Price, being kidnapped by an Ira terrorist, played by Dunbar.

a stalwart of the stage, albeit not (to his frustration) in London, he also writes and directs.

until Line Of Duty, he had never done a ‘returning series’. as for future ambitions, he says: ‘I’d love to do a sitcom because it must be nice to go to work every day having to make people laugh.’
