Water on tap

-

AFTER the harrowing account by Emma Thompson of schoolchildren starving themselves because they would rather buy bottled water than lunch, I have a life hack to share.

It will also go some way towards saving the planet from surplus plastic.

You would not have to look hard to find an empty small plastic bottle in your house.

Go to the sink, wash it out and fill the bottle with water from the tap. Then put it in your school bag.

This trick also works for office workers. Where did all this nonsense start that the only acceptable way to acquire water was by paying 90p a bottle for it?

No wonder young people claim to have no money. By the time they have bought the obligatory huge carton of coffee at £2.90 — or 5p if you make one at home and drink it before you leave — and a couple of bottles of water, that’s the best part of a fiver a day gone. SUZY ROSS, Newcastle upon Tyne.
