Barnsley and Luton go up
LUTON TOWN and Barnsley are back in the Championship after results went their way last night. Third-placed Portsmouth fell to a 3-2 defeat by Peterborough at Fratton Park while Sunderland lost 2-1 at Fleetwood. Luton, who host Oxford in their last game of the season on Saturday, return to the second tier after a 12-year hiatus. ‘The players have been magnificent from the first game to the last and Kenilworth Road will be rocking on Saturday,’ said interim boss Mick Harford. Barnsley make an immediate return to the Championship after relegation last season. They visit Bristol Rovers on Saturday. Bury were promoted to League One after a 1-1 draw at sixth-placed Tranmere. With third-placed MK Dons playing at fourth-placed Mansfield on the final day of the season, a point was enough for the Shakers.
