Rank chairman retires

ranK group’s non-executive chairman ian burke, 62, is stepping down after 13 years at the grosvenor Casino and mecca bingo owner.

The father- of-two joined as chief executive in 2006 and will step down at its annual meeting in October having decided to do so now that rank has a ‘strong management team’, led by John O’reilly, who joined last year as chief executive.

burke said: ‘i have enjoyed my time at rank immensely and am extremely proud of what we have achieved.’

in a separate update, rank said revenues were flat in the three months to the end of march, claiming it was proof that a recently launched turnaround plan is working.
