Outofthemouths ofbabes

When we looked after our granddaughter when she was three, one of our two cats died and she asked where he was. I told her he’d gone to heaven. She replied: ‘My friend went there, but she’s back now.’ I hadn’t the heart to say I’d said heaven, not Devon, which presumably is what she thought I’d said.
