Some be­lieve eve Alis­son at Liver­pool has as trans­formed a prob­lem po­si­tion for the club. Oth­ers ad­mire the role Eder­son plays at Manch­ester City, com­bin­ing ex­cel­lent distri­bu­tion skills with h brave, con­fi­dent keep­ing. Both have had ex­cel­lent sea­sons. Yet where would West Ham have fin­ished this year mi­nus Lukasz Fabi­an­ski? With­out doubt, his out­stand­ing per­for­mances helped ward off the early-sea­son ear crisis. Fabi Fabi­an­ski (left) ex­celled for Swansea a year e ear­lier, too, yet such is the ob­ses­sion with the elite that stel­lar per­for­mances lower down do the ta­ble — Aaron Aa Wan-Bissaka at Crys­tal Crys Palace, for one — often go g un­recog­nised. Alis­son and Eder­son have been great this year, but Fabi­an­ski has been bet­ter.
