SPORTING friends have been reunited. Roger Wolens, who is in his 70s and lives near Exeter, was keen to get in touch with teenage pals. ‘We were from the mining village of Arley, near Nuneaton,’ he says. ‘I’ve tracked down Albert Wright, who played cricket for Warwickshire. Another sportsman was Derek Finch, a fullback with West Bromwich Albion. I am still looking for Betty Court, Marian Baxter, Jean Benn, Alan Reynolds, Christine Harvey, Fred Chester and David Humphries.’ We have reported on reconnecting Roger with Fred Chester and David Humphries. Now three more have been found. ‘Derek Finch surfaced in Leeds, thanks to a neighbour spotting the article,’ writes Roger. ‘He went on to play for Aldershot and both Cambridge teams. I’m also back in touch with Christine Harvey and Alan Reynolds.’
