Get fell in! The 16 rottweiler pups from a military family

-

COAXING sixteen playful rottweiler pups to stay put for a photo may seem like a tough old job.

But, as this picture proves, it’s nothing that some strict military training can’t get right. Corporal Mark Marshall, 32, and his wife Laura thought their pet Roxy was carrying six puppies following scans but, to their utter astonishment, she gave birth to one of the largest rottweiler litters seen in the UK.

Such an addition to the family – the Marshalls and their five children live in a fourbedroom barracks home – meant some Army discipline was needed.

The puppies, now eight weeks old, were

put on a strict feeding regime – eight at a time for 40 minutes, giving their hardworking mum an hour’s break in between. Some were also fed by hand. Corporal Marshall, of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment based at Weeton Barracks, near Blackpool, said: ‘We had six in our head the whole time, the scans are usually pretty accurate. But no – there were another ten hiding somewhere! It’s definitely been a lot to handle.’ And the hard work has paid off, with all 16 rottweilers pictured here in good health (including the one hiding between two siblings). The Marshalls are keeping one of the pups, named Bella, but the others have been sold.
