RAGING AGGERS BACKS DOWN AFTER QUIT THREAT
JONATHAN AGNEW, the BBC’s thin-skinned cricket correspondent, took great offence to a column by the
Jonathan Liew and threatened to resign his membership of the Cricket Writers’ Club in protest. After calling Liew all manner of names on Twitter at various late hours of the day, Agnew’s complaint was discussed at the Club’s AGM at Lord’s on Monday — just as Liew walked in. Agnew (right) did not resign in the end, saying ‘wise counsel and friendship’ had prevailed. It’s been a busy few days for the
stalwart, who had to dash off from England’s run chase against Ireland in Dublin on Friday to get to Devon for his theatre show in Paignton on Saturday night.
