Lawless caps debut win for Team Ineos

TEAM Ineos claimed a first victory in their new guise after Lancastrian Chris Lawless delivered overall victory in the Tour de Yorkshire with a strong ride on the last stage. Five days after the team’s transformation from Team Sky, Lawless crossed the line in Leeds second behind Greg Van Avermaet but that was enough to seal victory by two seconds from the Belgian. ‘I surprised myself,’ Lawless said. ‘I’m shell-shocked really.’
