will be no swish glass-fronted studios in France when England’s Women’s World Cup matches are broadcast. The BBC have gone in for FIFA ‘hybrid’ outdoor positions within the stadiums — one step up from pitchside locations — for the group stage games against Scotland and Japan, in Nice, and Argentina, in Le Havre. It’s certainly an improvement from the coverage of the 2015 World Cup in Canada, which was fronted from a studio in London.
