RACE FOR THE TOP FOUR

-

CHELSEA secured a place in next season’s Champions League yesterday as a result of beating Watford and Arsenal being held by Brighton. TOTTENHAM can secure their place if they pick up a point against Everton on Sunday. If Tottenham lose, ARSENAL can qualify if they beat Burnley and turn around a goal difference that is eight goals inferior to Tottenham’s. MANCHESTER UNITED will play in the Europa League next season.

BOTH Tottenham and Arsenal can qualify for the Champions League by winning a European trophy this season. If Tottenham win the Champions League but finish outside the top four in the Premier League, they will play in Europe’s premier competition next season. If Arsenal win the Europa League and finish outside the top four, they will also qualify for the Champions League.
