PERCENTAGES OF MY BRAIN

Ten per cent is spent completing All my daily tasks, But I will lie and say it’s more If anybody asks. Twenty per cent just drifts around Inside a cloudy haze, Although that can be so much more On very vacant days. Sixty per cent is filled with thoughts Too strange for me to tell. But if you have read through my poems You’ll know them pretty well. Eighty per cent is always working, Thinking thoughts in rhymes. Fun, but I confess that it Gets on my nerves at times. Ten per cent is just filled up with White noise and vague hums. The rest of it just concentrates On helping me do sums. Judith Blatherwick, Garvald, East Lothian.
