Warburton lands QPR job
MARK WARBURTON will be named manager of QPR this week. The 56-year old former Brentford and Rangers boss (right) will succeed Steve McClaren, who was sacked last month. Warburton was selected ahead of rival candidates such as Michael Appleton, Tim Sherwood and Gary Rowett with the hope he can transform the Loftus Road club into Championship promotion contenders next season. Meanwhile, Fulham have failed with a fresh attempt to persuade Arsene Wenger back into management. The former Arsenal boss turned down an approach in November and has done so again.
