STRAIGHT TO THE POINT

-

MY BAG was snatched in November and, along with my purse, money and personal items, I lost £70 worth of Sainsbury’s vouchers. I have tried to cancel the vouchers and get a refund, but I’ve been passed back and forth between the Sainsbury’s and Nectar customer service teams. J. W., Sunderland. SAINSBury’S apologises for the delay, which it says was caused by an administrative error, and has now added the value of the vouchers to your Nectar account. I BELIEVE I have shares in the Just Group, but I cannot find my certificates. Who should I contact for help? L.R., by email. ShArEholdErS with queries should contact registrar Equiniti on 0871 384 2030 or write to Equiniti, Aspect house, Spencer road, lancing, West Sussex, BN99 6dA. Visit equiniti.com for more details. TALKTALK charges me £2 a month for paper bills. I’ve always thought this unfair, as I don’t use the internet and have only a landline. Is there anything I can do? C. G., Cumbria. All TalkTalk contracts include broadband, so even if you prefer not to use the internet, you technically could.

The telecoms giant is insistent that anyone who does not switch to e-billing should pay an extra £24 a year for paper bills, but it has offered you a six-month discount of £12 as a goodwill gesture. I APPLIED for a new passport for my son six weeks before we were due to go on our dream holiday. It did not arrive three weeks later, as promised, and the passport office has told me it’s too late to pay for its fast-track service to get the passport here in time. I fear this delay will mean we will lose our £10,000 holiday. C. M., by email. ThE home office says it issued your son’s passport three weeks and three days from the application date. A spokesman says it can take longer than three weeks to process it if more information is needed or if it finds errors. Neither applied in your case and it refused to explain the delay.
