DID dinosaurs roar, as they do in the film Jurassic Park, or did they squawk, screech or emit a strange, low rumbling sound? Adam Rutherford and Hannah Fry (pictured) look at evidence to solve a prehistoric mystery in THE CURIOUS CASES OF RUTHERFORD & FRY (RADIO 4, 9.30AM, 8.45PM).

WILLIAM BROWN meets a Punch and Judy man who is down on his luck. William — despite being just 11 years old, with dirty knees and his socks at half-mast — manages to give the puppeteer the impression that he is the owner of The Hall, and is looking to hire an entertainer. In JUST WILLIAM — LIVE! (RADIO 4, 11.30AM), the marvellous Martin Jarvis gives a masterclass in comic timing as he reads another classic tale written by Richmal Crompton.

SIMON EVANS is doing a terrific job with his series, which manages to pull off the all but impossible task of combining stand-up comedy with a spot of education.

Simon has been delivering routines about economists while tackling competing theories of macroeconomics. It sounds unlikely, but it works. Tonight, in SIMON EVANS GOES TO MARKET

(RADIO 4, 6.30PM), he will share some of the details of John Maynard Keynes’s life and theories. Keynes was, as we hear, a bit of an oddball, but was also, unlike many economists, rather good with money.
