Missing the bus
I HAVE a bus pass — but no bus. We used to have a wonderful service into town and to nearby Yeovil. But the company can’t afford to run the service because nearly everyone who travelled on it had a bus pass and the council did not provide enough money to fund it.
I am sure most people would have been prepared to pay a nominal top-up sum to keep the service going.
But Government legislation prevents bus companies from charging passengers with a bus pass. It’s a classic case of Catch-22. Mrs S. FOOKS, Sherborne, Dorset.
