Centrica pay ‘is excessive’
CENTRICA has been criticised for an ‘excessive’ £1.8m share award handed to boss Iain Conn.
Shareholder advisory service Pirc said the chief executive received too much when compared to Centrica’s performance and urged rejection of the company’s pay report at its annual general meeting on Monday.
Conn was granted 1.7m shares in April 2018, according the annual report, were worth £1.8m yesterday. Pirc said: ‘Awards were excessive.’ Conn has received £11.2m since the start of 2015 which Pirc said this was ‘not commensurate’ with returns to shareholders.
