Migraine is linked to miscarriage
WOMEN who suffer migraines are more likely to see a pregnancy end in miscarriage or give birth prematurely, a study has found.
Researchers said migraine sufferers had a 10 per cent higher chance of miscarriage and were 21 per cent more likely to have an early birth. Their babies are 20 per cent more likely to be admitted to intensive care and have a higher chance of respiratory problems and seizures. Researchers in Denmark tracked 250,000 mothers-to-be over seven years.
They said women who get the severe headaches are 50 per cent more likely to be hit by high blood pressure and 40 per cent more likely to suffer pre-eclampsia – threatening the lives of mother and baby.
