Pop a designer bargain into your supermarket trolley
GOOD taste but a tiny clothes budget? Now you can pick up a piece from one of the UK’s leading young designers — with your supermarket shop.
Sainsbury’s has teamed up with Graduate Fashion Week, which showcases the best emerging design talents and launched the careers of some of our top designers including Christopher Bailey, Stella McCartney, Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson and Julien Macdonald.
The supermarket’s clothing brand, Tu, will carry items by two up-and-coming designers, priced from £4 to £35.
Molly Hopwood, from Leeds University, has designed a menswear range including sustainable denim and cotton shirts. Jenni Healy, from Manchester School of Art, will create a Sixtiesinspired line for women — and some matching children’s clothes so kids can join in the fun.
the collections will be available at selected Sainsbury’s stores and online at tu.co.uk from may 19. Graduate Fashion Week will take place from June 2-5 in London.
